The responsibilities are as follows:
1. Study, analyze and prepare Bangkok water quality management master plans and projects.
2. Construction planning and control for wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment system, repair and maintenance of water quality control plants
3. Operation and maintenance of Bangkok wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment system
4. Monitor, and mitigation of water quality problems in Bangkok public water sources
5. Manage the collection of wastewater treatment fees
6. Providing water quality and sludge analysis for government agencies and private sectors
7. Public education and raising public awareness of water quality management. Create the participation of all sectors in the care and maintenance of public water sources.

2. Water quality management technical sub-office
The responsibilities are as follows:
1. Study, analyze and prepare Bangkok water quality management master plans and projects.
2. Bangkok wastewater treatment projects management.
3. Setting up guidelines and promote the utilization of products from wastewater treatment
4. Design wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment system for agencies in Bangkok and other agencies
5. Consider allowing of wastewater pipe connection to BMA wastewater collection systems from various agencies both public and private sectors.
6. Analyze, research, monitor water quality and sediments in public water sources, including measures to prevent and mitigate water quality problems of Bangkok.
7. Collect, analyze, process and report information on Bangkok water quality management.
8. Proceed the collection of wastewater treatment fees.
9. Public education and understanding and raising awareness in water quality management. Encourage participation of all sectors in the care and maintenance of public water sources.
10. Perform other related duties or assigned

The Sub-office consists of:
2.1. Water Quality Analysis Section
 1. Analyze, research and monitor water quality and sediment in public water sources.
 2. Provide water and sediment analysis services for both private and government sectors.
 3. Study, develop and improve water quality analytical methods to be an appropriate and conforms to international standards
 4. Monitor and recommend measures to mitigate water pollution problem in Bangkok
 5. Experimental research, operate and maintenance of water treatment by aquatic plants( the Bio Park) in Lumbhini public park
 6. Maintaining automatic water quality surveillance systems and vehicles in responsibility
 7. Prepare an emergency mobile unit to solve urgent water quality problems
 8. Providing Mobile drinking water production system to various agencies
 9. Collecting and preparing water quality data for the water quality analysis section
 10. Inspect, repair and maintain electrical systems of scientific instruments / equipment and also automatic water quality monitoring station
 11. Public relations on Bangkok water quality management
 12. Perform other related duties or assigned

2.2. Project and Sludge Management Section
 1. Study, analyze and prepare Bangkok water quality management master plans and projects
 2. Implementation of centralized wastewater treatment projects
 3. Set up guidelines and promote the utilization of wastewater treatment products
 4. Cooperation center for Bangkok water quality management and technology development with domestic and foreign agencies
 5. Perform other related duties or assigned.


2.3. Data Systems and Fee Collection Management Section
 1. Collecting, analyzing, processing and reporting data and information on Bangkok water quality management
 2. Establishing a database system for Bangkok water quality management
 3. Proceed the collection of wastewater treatment fees.
 4. Organize activities or projects to campaign and raising public awareness of water quality management and water pollution mitigation also enhance the participation of all sectors in response and maintain the water quality of public sources
 5. Prepare an action plan of the Water Quality Management Office
 6. Supervise and evaluate the annual working performance of the Water Quality Management Office
 7. Perform other related duties or assigned.


2.4. Wastewater Treatment Development Section
 1. Survey and prepare details design for construction of wastewater collection and treatment systems for internal and external agencies in Bangkok.
 2. Survey, approve and prepare a construction plan for the sewage collection system to cover the wastewater treatment service area.
 3. Examine and solve engineering problems in Bangkok wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment plant
 4. Construction supervision and improve the wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment plants of Bangkok
 5. Review and consider allowing for sewerage connection to Bangkok wastewater treatment for various agencies, both public and private sectors in order to comply with the specified criteria.
 6. Perform other related duties or assigned

3. Water quality management Sub-office
The responsibilities are as follows:
1. Control operate and maintenance Bangkok wastewater treatment systems to comply with national standards.
2. Operate and maintenance wastewater treatment systems in royal court area and places
3. Procure and proceed contracts of private operators of Bangkok wastewater treatment plants
4. Repair and Maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems within the water quality control plants
5. Maintenance of the wastewater collection system, tools, equipment and vehicles.
6. Solve water quality problems in public water sources of Bangkok
7. Perform other related duties or assigned

The sub-office consists of:
3.1. Water Quality Control Section 1
 1. Operate and maintenance Bangkok water environment control plants(Wastewater treatment plants) to meet the specified standards
 2. Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical systems within the water quality control plants
 3. Inspect and analyze quality of water and sludge from water environment control plants
 4. Procurement and proceeding of private contractor to operate the Bangkok wastewater treatment system and wastewater collection system
 5. Record and maintenance of tools equipment and vehicles in the responsibility
 6. Prepare emergency mobile units for solving water quality problems (Best Unit)
 7. Prepare drinking water production truck service
 8. Perform other related duties or assigned.

The work group is responsible for the following areas :
(1) Four service areas of large scale water quality control plants, namely Din Daeng Water Quality Control Plant, Bang Sue Education and Environment Conservation Center, Rattanakosin Water Quality Control Plant and Chatuchak Water Quality Control Plant
(2) Five community scale water quality control plants, namely Bang Bua Water Quality Control Plant, Huay Kwang Water Quality Control Plant, Thung Song Hong Water Quality Control Plant 1 , Thung Song Hong Water Quality Control Plant 2 and Tha Sai Water Quality Control Plant
(3) 2 Royal Initiative Water Quality Control Projects : Rama 9 Water Quality Control Plant and Makkasan Water Quality Control Plant
(4). Alleviate water quality problems in public water sources Responsible for the area of 16 districts : Dusit Phra Nakhon, Ratchathewi, Phayathai, Bang Sue, Din Daeng, Pathumwan, Huay Kwang, Lat Phrao, Wang Thonglang, Lak Si, Bang Khen, Don Mueang, Sai Mai, Chatuchak and Pom Prap Sattrupai

3.2. Water Quality Control Section 2
This has the same authorities and duties as Water Quality Control Division 1 , but responsible for the following areas
(1) Two areas of large scale water quality control plants, namely Chong Nonsi Water Quality Control Plant And Si Phraya Water Quality Control Plant
(2) Five community scale water quality control plants, namely Bangna Water Quality Control Plant, Klong Toey Water quality control plant, Rom Klao Water Quality Control Plant, Klong Chan Water Quality Control Plant and Hua Mark Water Quality Control Plant
(3) Mitigate water quality problems in public water sources. It is responsible for 19 district areas, including Bangna, Phra Khanong, Prawet, Khlong Toei, Yannawa, Bang Kho Laem, Sathorn, Watthana, Bangrak, Samphanthawong, Saphan Sung, Suan Luang, Bangkapi, Bueng Kum. Minburi, Lat Krabang, Khlong Sam Wa, Kannayao, and Nong Chok


3.3. Water Quality Control Section 3
The work group has the same authorities and duties as the Water Quality Control Division 1 , but responsible for the following areas:
(1) Two large water quality control plants, namely Nong Khaem Water Quality Control Plant and Tung Kru water quality control plant
(2) Five community scale water quality control plants, namely Ram-Indra water quality control plant and Bon Kai water quality control plant
(3) Service and maintenance of wastewater collection treatment system in the royal court and other important places
(4) Alleviate water quality problems in public water sources, responsible for 15 areas including Thonburi, Bangkok Yai, Klongsan, Talingchan, Bangkok Noi, Bang Khun Thian, Phasi Charoen, Nong Khaem, Raturana, Bang Phlat Jomthong, Bang Khae Thawi Watthana, Thung Khru and Bang Bon.


3.4. Maintenance sectino for wastewater collection system
1. Prepare annually work plan and report of the repair and maintenance of the Bangkok wastewater collection system
2. Maintenance of the Bangkok wastewater collection system, Clean and repair wastewater interception chamber, pumping station and manholes and accessories to be in a good condition.
3. Inspect and repair to solve problem within Bangkok sewerage system
4. Perform other related duties or assigned.
